Gary Encourages Blue Devils and Congratulates Football Team on Winning Third Consecutive State Championship - Total of Six State Championships

Willie E. Gary, trial attorney and philanthropist, recently visited students at Pahokee High School in Pahokee, Florida, to present championship rings to the school’s football team and to inspire students to strive for academic excellence.

Gary has visited the school on numerous occasions and has picked up the tab for the championship rings three years in a row. Pahokee High School is the first Florida public school to make it to the championship game for six years straight. They have the fifth best record in the Florida playoffs and 2008 marks their third consecutive year winning the championship.

Gary, accompanied by his son Kobie, addressed 500 Pahokee High School students and faculty. Upon arrival, Gary was welcomed by Principal Ariel Alejo and the school’s head football coach, Blaze Thompson. Members of the JROTC stood at attention as the school’s drum line and cheerleaders formed a processional to lead Gary into the auditorium where students eagerly anticipated his appearance.

On stage, band members excited the crowd with a school chant. The band’s performance was followed by the cheerleaders who showed their gratitude to Mr. Gary by performing a cheer in his honor. Gary praised the football team for a job well done and offered words of encouragement, emphasizing the importance of education as well as the challenges of pursuing an athletic career.
